dnp.prf - editing the texts

DNP.PRF tells the phone what text to display how. For example, you can make "Charge Complete" into "Charged and ready to go!" by simply changing this file. To do this we will use three programs. Random's Lang Editor, Motorola Language Editor 2.2 and F&B (Or SHX Codec).

Step 1.- Open up your MP in SHX codec or F&B and split it into SMG files, you are seeking the Font (CG4)

Step 2.- Open up the CG4.SMG in Motorola Language Editor 2.2 and go to the strings tab. You will see all languages in the font. Not the hex number beside the Language, for example, British English is 03, US English is 01, Spain Spanish is 0A. Select the language(es) you want to edit and click on the "Save Strings" button. Save these to a place you will remember.

Step 3.- Open Randoms Language Editor and in default laguage ID write the hex number you wrote down before (03, 01, 0A, etc) then select Show Strings list, it will open a new window, in this window select Load file and navigate to the corresponding Language for the Language ID (if you typed 01 select US english for example). Then search for the string you want to change, for example Charging. Once you find it select Copy, do this for all strings you want to change, once your done hit close.

Step 4.- You are back in Language Editors main window, and you should see the strings you copied with there corresponding language ID, double click these and type what you want to see on your phone. When your done save the file as dnp.prf (has to be lower case) and upload to a/

Step 5.- Seem edit to enable dynamic prompts. SEEM 0032 Offset 5A bit 0 value 1
